DESCRIPTION:Jalimusa\n\nAn Epic Tale of Black Women's Mothering by Dr. Amira Davis\n\nThis presentation will be a combination performance and lecture on chapters of Davis' book on Black women's mothering.\n\nShe will perform songs related to Black women's mothering and read excerpts from her book.\n\n35 years of "arts in education" performances using African percussions\, drums\, storytelling\, and songs.\n\nAll ages and nationalities are welcomed!\n\nMay 18 at 3:00PM - Entry is free\n\nShow duration: Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes with no intermission\n\nThe World Music Foundation\, supported by the Illinois Humanities Council\, is proud to host this special presentation celebrating Black women's experiences and cultural heritage.
